Choose your scientists Go to the bio website and choose 3 scientists for your project.Choose scientists that are in a common field, such as ecology, zoology, or chemistry. You can find a list of fields here.
Write summaries Create a folder called science on Google Docs and then a document called "Scratch Scientists" in this folder. Your writing and pictures should go on this document. Write a short definition of the scientific field. Write three short sentences for each person that describe who the person is or was. 1. When and where the person lived or lives. 2. What the person accomplished in science. 3. An interesting fact about the person.
Find pictures Find a background picture related to the scientific field of your 3 people and find pictures of each person.
Create Scratch Project
Pictures Start a new Scratch project. Set the stage as your background picture and create 3 sprites, one for each scientist, using the pictures you found. You will probably need to adjust the size of the pictures to get all three pictures on the stage.
Information Write the name and simple definition of the scientists' field on the stage. Then add code to have each scientists say three short sentences about themselves. Remember the 2nd scientist must wait until the first scientist is done before he speaks. If you need help with the coding, click here to see a completed project.
